This April, we are absolutely delighted to be ‘involved’ in the 2018 Virgin London Marathon… ok, we may not be running ourselves but our friend Kevin at Renishaw will be and we’re delighted to have sponsored his team’s (bright green!) training jersey by popping our logo on the back.
The 2018 Virgin London Marathon is taking place on Sunday 22nd April and will see thousands of amateur and professional runners take on the famous 26 mile stretch across the capital. In the lead up to the event, Kevin’s team have been busy preparing and has just started their sixth week of training out of a whopping 17!
Not only are they busy running around, they are also doing it for a great cause, in support of BackCare, the National Back Pain Association Society. The charity which was established over 50 years ago is dedicated to educating the public about preventing and alleviating back & neck pain and has a special place in each of Kevin’s team members hearts.
The team is running around 300 miles per week while sporting their t-shirts and we also heard that during their last park run, many other runners were shouting ‘green army’ as they ran the cool down mile. One of the runners also took part in the Staverton 10 miler the other day wearing his shirt too. We must admit the shirts are very bright, but at least they’re for a great cause and will keep them safe at night! Let’s just hope they get plenty of washes between now and the marathon.
We wish the team all the best and we are delighted to be involved!
