Prepare for Microsoft Programmes End of Support

Microsoft will be ending support on a number of programmes and products available to users as part of their Microsoft Lifecycle Policy in 2020. The policy provides consistent and predictable guidelines for the availability of support throughout the life of a product and is kept updated with the latest products that will no longer receive support.

The following major products will reach the end of their support on 14 January 2020:

•    Windows Server 2008 and 2008 R2*
•    Exchange Server 2010
•    Windows 7*
•    Windows 7 Professional for Embedded Systems*

(*These products are eligible for the Extended Security Update Program)

Once the support has closed for these products, there will be no patches available, meaning any potential vulnerabilities will not be resolved leaving them at risk to cyber-attacks. Before the support comes to a close, it will be really important to ensure that all users who currently use these products download the necessary updates as soon as possible to ensure that their systems remain secure.

If you would like any more information or assistance with regards to the End of Support on any of these products, you can speak to our team of specialists on 01453 700 800 or visit the Microsoft website here.
