What would we all do without WiFi in this day and age? Although it is definitely an essential part of running a business in 2020, there are still steps that need to be taken to ensure that your systems remain safe and uncompromised.

It is ultimately your responsibility to reduce the risks so here are our top tips for Secure WiFi:

  • Implement an effective management system: Be sure to have a management system in place that can help to manage your bandwitdth. This will reduce the amount each user can access and will also help to reduce the risk of nasty downloads and potential hacks.
  • WiFi monitoring: A managed WiFi system will be monitored for attack risks and kept malware and virus free. It’s simple and you don’t then have to worry about it yourself.
  • Capture user details: It’s important to capture any user details through a registration process, (especially if you’re hosting a HotSpot) this will not only help you build a database but will also provide valuable legal protection.
  • Add in user agreements: If you are offering your WiFi as a service (like in a restaurant or a café for example) it is essential to add in user agreements. This will ensure that the user knows what is expected of them and what isn’t.

It is important to make sure that your systems are prepared and implemented correctly, for more details on how to set up WiFi securely, read our White Paper.
